🧠 What is VocabAmp?

VocabAmp is an advanced vocabulary learning tool that uses scientifically-proven spaced repetition algorithms to help you learn and retain words efficiently. Unlike traditional flashcards, this app intelligently schedules reviews based on how well you know each word.

🔬 The FSRS Algorithm

This app uses FSRS (Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler) v4, the most accurate open-source spaced repetition algorithm available. FSRS is based on the scientific principle of the Ebbinghaus Forgetting Curve and improves upon the classic SuperMemo SM-2 algorithm.

How it works:

• Stability (S): Measures how long you'll remember a word (in days)
• Retrievability (R): Probability that you can recall the word right now
• Difficulty (D): How inherently hard the word is for you (1-10 scale)

When you mark a card as "I Know", the algorithm increases its stability, scheduling the next review further in the future. When you mark it as "I Don't Know", stability decreases, and you'll see it again immediately in the same session until you learn it.

Formula: R = e^(-t/S) where t is elapsed time since last review
